This project saw the creation of a logotype for a jewellery company. The client wanted to use the initial M as a part of the design as that was part of the firm’s name, Maroc.
After producing a number of iterations that explored moroccan art as design element, a new direction was explored, one that used celtic love-knots as inspiration.
After a little research I found a number of designs that incorpated interlocking shapes and in particular, heart motifs. Taking inspiration from these, I looked at trying to create a simpler icon using the “love knot” as a guide. Complexity comes from the creation of the knot from the interlocking shapes. Hearts are of course a big element in jewelry – and the final design fuses two of them together.
